I was gonna make a deer hunt this afternoon, but geranamo was coming buy some old duck decoys from me. I Had some old full body specks and shells that were looking shabby. I decided to turn em into snows and blues for next week. Got a few primed up tonight. Did a lil research and found some rust oleum plastic primer. They recommend to let em set for 4-5 days. Gonna prime up the rest tomorrow after the hunt, then paint em later next week.

I seen people re paint specks before but that takes too much work to do the detail stuff.

Talked to the guy at the hardware store. He said the Krylox fusion is lot better and you can put the top coat on while the primer is still wet. Got 9 full bodys and some beak work on the snows I did today left to do. I painted em all white and then held a can of black about 18-24 inches out and oversprayed some to make em look like blues and eagle heads. Worked great. The detail work was a lil hard to figure out on the eagle heads. I just kept switching back and forth between white and black till I got em like I wanted. I free handed all the blues. The snows I used masking tape to put the black on the tails.

I'm pretty proud of these eagle heads

Yea I thought about that too for the morning. It would of been interesting with the brushed up wheel chair cart we will have in the field with us tomorrow. I'm sleeping at the lodge and All my mounting hardware is back at the house though. I'll probably mount it there for a while then on my dog for a while. I've seen some videos like that.

I used to put out shells with my big sock/rag spread but I don't even bother anymore. Too much trouble to bring out. Look good though!

They are a lot more trouble but worth it in my opinion. All the way down wind near the blinds I'll use full bodies then shells then rags heading up wind.

I've never had much success with big white spreads though so that's not saying much lol
