carb trouble?
The other day I changed a diaphragm out in my carb because it was bad and proceeded to put the boat in the water to see how she ran. Well, first of all any time I would give it some gas in reverse it would die. Didn't even want to idle. With full choke it would run good at about half throttle. Any more and it would start to die. As soon as I would take the choke off it would start to bog down and want to die. I am pretty daggon new to all this. So this may be a stupid question, but do you think I just have trash in the carb? Like a plugged jet or something? |

Sounds like high speed jet plugged up. But I'm no mechanic...

I was thinking that too, but I wanted another opinion. Thank you!

In my past experience, if it idles good but runs sluggish on throttle, it was the high speed jet. When on throttle, you can hold choke and it should boost power. That's usually trash in hs jet.

I cleaned the carb and it runs fine. I just need to figure out my idle now. It'll idle good for a while then it dies. I'll get it eventually though

What "diaphragm" did you change inside a carb?
You are describing fuel pump symptoms. D |
