Default cast netting at Big lake

Does anyone know when the wiers will close on the South end of Big Lake?

Yep....the gate may still be open and you will see people continue to go through it because they don't know the rules but I wouldn't chance getting caught back there....

I know there were several times last year that it was wide open and people were going in and out of there during duck season.

Yes, I thought the same thing. I saw the Feds go back there and write a bunch of tickets. I thought it was entrapment but they told the people you should know the refuge rules....I felt bad for dads back there with a load of kids catching redfish. This was the day after Christmas last year.

They put a big sign on the Grand Bayou weirs the night before Duck season.
They usually close the boat bay too. Till the split.
