Capt. Rick’s Sportfishing has built a reputation as the top charter operation in Puerto Adventuras. Capt. Ricks is run by Bob and Glenna Uecker, who operate from an office right in the marina, giving guests the peace of mind that comes with dealing with on-site, English-speaking managers.

Capt. Ricks operates the largest and most modern fleet in the region, with vessels ranging from a 23’ Seacraft to a 48’ Viking that are all equipped with Shimano or Penn gear. The excellent English-speaking captains all have more than 10 years experience in local waters.

The Caribbean waters off Puerto Adventuras are home to a variety of angling opportunities. Bottom fishing for grouper and snapper is excellent year round. Beginning in March and running through July, Sailfish, Blue Marlin, White Marlin and Dorado are migrating through and it is not unusual to get multiple hook ups. This is the time for Grand Slams - a sailfish, white marlin and blue marlin all on the same boat on the same day.
One of the best things about fishing off of Puerto Adventuras is the close proximity to the fishing grounds – Capt. Rick’s boats generally set out lines as soon as they exit the marina, and sailfish have been caught so close they have been released in the marina.
