Had to take a switch over to the boat dealer and talked to the guys in the shop. They found a kink in the vent hose...said no way you could fill it with that kink because there was almost zero air bleed. So all the air was trying to come back up the fill line causing the fuel nozzle to back up and shut off. Now if I continue to have a problem I will see if the filling it from the opposite direction makes a difference. But first I have to go put some fish slime on this new boat......tomorrow.....

Jpeff not sure who you are talking to but if its me there is a pic of the new boat on this thread.
All - Picked up the boat just now and there were actually two problems with the fuel filling system either of which would have given me the issue of waaayyyy slow filling. 1. The inlet line had a small loop where fuel was holding up. This causes back pressure and will shut off the flow. 2. The vent line had a big time pinch in it blocking most air release. Also pressure to build and shut off the fuel. Going fishing tomorrow and might burn enough fuel to give me enough space in the tank to go fill it back up and see if the issue is corrected. |

It looks like y'all have the 2400 so the fuel filling problem may be different, but I have the 2200 and there is a problem witht the way the tank was manufactured. The 2200 has a 60g tank and I could only get 40g without it taking waaaayyy too long to get the extra 20g in.
My buddy and I figuered it out by pulling the lid off to expose the tank. There is an extra bolt that you can unscrew to let it vent. After that we could fill it to 60g with no problems. The issue is the vent tube goes too far down into the tank and when filling to a certain level it can no longer vent correctly. I worked with my dealer and Blue Wave and I had to send it off to some place in Mississippi to have the deck pulled apart to get it corrected. If anyone has an issue, Blue Wave is aware of the problem and it should get repaired under warranty, at least mine did. |

I have the same model as you. I have the same problem. I have to pump it slow. I tried both positions with the gas handle on the down side as you would filling your truck. I also reverse it 180. No luck either way. Personally, I think there is not enough of drop between the gas cap to the top of the tank to have better flow. I also seen my buddies brand new boat the other day, it is a little bass tracker i think. I notice there very little drop between the gas cap and tank. |

I can now pump my fuel as fast as it will go. you can alway bypass it to fill then isolate it off after with a valve. I talked to several guides and dealers and it is a well know problem, and not just for the Blue Waves. It has allot to do with the new EPA canister.

I'm sure its just like the gas cans now where they are so afraid of fumes getting out that gas cant flow. first thing I do after buying a gas can is rip the damn auto close valve off it and make a vent hole and stick a bolt in it when not in use.
if it would matter I bet you can rig a simple valve to bypass it for refueling then have it still hooked up if it ever came to be a required thing they might check for. at least for now I don't think they check stuff like that but at one point they might. |
