Default big lake 5-7

Well I wish I wouldve got an earlier start but the ol lady didnt get home till 9 (luckily the boat was already loaded) launched at heberts around 9:30 my original plan was to go to grand bayou or Lambert. Well after a little running I decided to check my GPS to see how much farther I had. Well right where I slowed down at I noticed some birds diving. So down went with the trolling motor and the gulp started flying.tried that for about 45 minutes and nothing. Managed to catch some pogies.. (4") a little bigger then I like to fish personally. So I put my pvc pipes down and threw artificial while I had pogies on the.bottom. Well after a little while of fishing I had four and was determined to get a fifth to get my limit.well up until then all my fish had been caught on my small spinning reel with braid (which came in handy guiding all these reds through crab pots.well my fifth fish was about 26" and he hit my baitcast with 12lb mono and after a while of fighting him he made a run for the crab trap so I tried to turn him and "boom" cut me off. Determined to get my limit I stayed and managed one more even though he was a runt.nevermimd the drum I kept it for a buddy. Smallest fish was 17" didnt measure the rest.

No there was plenty of bait, just no fish. I kept throwin, like I said I had one on bottom and I was throwing everything in the box. Missed a few because I wasnt payin attention. I kno how ya feel about wanting to go I was pissed when I got up at 530 and the wimd was 2mph anf I knew I wouldnt be able to hit the water till atleast 10. I had to bug the ol lady amd aggrevate her to come home early.....
