Default 24 HO with 225 Pro XS

My Haynie has it 63 with 2 people and a 1/2 tank of gas. I cruise at 38 to 40 mph. It burns around 9 gallons per hour at that operation. My boat is completely rigged out. These boats scoot. Best riding boat I have ever owned. Only comparable ride is a Blackjack. But, these Haynies stay on top of the chop. Chris will treat you right. The only reason I woud suggest a 225 Pro XS wuld be that you will pay significantly more for the 250 XS for maybe 2 to 3 mph more. Either motor you get will be fine. Good luck. What color?

I am not sure about the color yet, I just put down a deposit a few minutes ago and I have until next week to pick everything. He offered me a very good deal on a Verado 300 if I wanted to go that route.

If Ryan(Montauk) says stay away from the verado listen to him... he works in a outboard repair shop

Exactly!! We do alot of work on the DWLF boats. They HATE them, but mercury pushes them and they dont have much of a choice. I cannot tell you how many lower units we have changed on verados as well as powerheads.

Ill never argue that Yammy is the best motor around...but the opti preforms much better and is a good fit for a Haynie....

Lets put em up side by side and you will see how a yamaha performs with a slight "tune" 22 foot skeeter bay with a 280 3.1 yamaha will eat your haynie for lunch.
