Shrimp
I really like to buy my shrimp fresh unfrozen off the boat's down in hackberry. Usually buy from the guy right next to Spicer's on DJ Lane (the boat right next to the bridge that never moves and just dips the nets in the water when the tide is running. Last year went down about september or so and bought 70 lbs of 16-20's shrimp for right around the 3.50$ mark. Supplies are starting to run low in the Archer freezer so i was wanting to refill. Anyone know the phone number of that boat where i can check if they are selling fresh caught right now? I believe there are usually 2 main runs of shrimp each year (the brown run earlier and then the whites in august - september) is that correct? Can someone set me straight on when to come down to get some Bayou gold? |

Correct on the 2 seasons... The season isn't open yet... You gonna have to wait till around mid May.. The biologist will hold their meeting on May 1st to decide the opening of the season. This is what I was told by a shrimp boat captain last week..
