I'm still in school so I'm planning on having this next rig for awhile until I get out of here.
If you are going to have that fixed you can have a front storage box built, I have one that comes out about 2ft great for battery and life jackets and such. If you are going to have to wire it go to West marine and get marine grade wire, you can then go to Advanced Auto and get breaker and all the waterProof connectors you need. I have a fuse panel in my front box close to my battery that my lights, depth finder and such run through; this makes everything neat and easy to work on if you have problems. There is a post on here with some pics of my boat with the box, I will get the link for you.

Box is great for shotgun shells, tackle box and a lot more. My boat also has back deck extended with lid over gas tank, both of these make it nice to fish from.

ball parking it how much do you think it would cost to cut that front deck into a box like that. Right now its the same, but solid and I have a hole that is about 1.5ft one wide and 8 inches tall in the back of the front deck. The back of my boat is fully exposed. Both of those are awesome though. They don't look like they'd be too hard to accomplish but would be extremely useful.

how fast does a 25 push you with what you have? I've been debating a 25 vs a 40.

back would be simple to just build a lid and weld some suports, front could be done pretty easy. To do front they could just extend back and put a lid and leave the opening you have for even more storage under the deck. I will open mine up and get some more pics that you could take and let a shop look at, as for price I would guess $300 ball park.

I would get a 40. Do you have a tunnel or a flatbottom?
