Default Getting a new boat!

Well, after much deliberation I have decided to get a new skiff to take trips out of. This is a big decision for me with Wyatt just about to come home but I need to take my guide business to the next level and a new skiff is the way to do it. I decided on a Beavertail BT3. The boat is an 18' flats boat with a Yamaha F70. I will be posting pictures of the build as I get them from Will the owner of the company. I am supposed to be getting the boat March 9th! I am really excited as this is the first thing I have ever bought brand new. After the 9th anyone wanting to take a trip in the new skiff is welcome. I need to pay for this beast! lol

If you are looking at flats skiffs, I can say with no uncertainty that Beavertail has had the best customer service of all the other makers. I will put money on that right now. I will need to fish the boat a few times to tell you about its performance. Everything I have read and heard from people I have called with the BT3 tells me it is the cat's meow.

I was possibly looking at a skiff because I love to fish the shallow flat and sight cast, but with a rapidly growing family I may just go with a 21' or 22' CC but have not decided what I should do yet.

Nice ride and congrats on the new rig. But you really ought to think about the 90. Three guys and gear in that boat with a 70 will be fine but a tad underpowered for my tastes.

I appreciate the advice. When you pole 8 hours plus a day, I prefer the almost 100 pounds less in weight.
