While we are on the Prodrive subject, what's the difference between the 35 and 36 PD? Plenty of info on the 36 and 25 hps on the website but nothing on the 35hps.

35's are horizontal blocks for the gtr, 36's vertical blocks for prodrive....the carb being straight on the intake gives it the 1 extra hp making it a 36...thats the only difference

Gotcha, is the weight difference really 75 lbs like the websites say?

I didn't think I would like the prodrive reverse either, but now I love it. Mine is the manual reverse. I put a "reverse pin puller" on it so I don't have to reach around the back of the motor to start the reverse sequence. If you go prodrive and manual reverse, I HIGHLY recommend the reverse pin puller.

Word is Prodrive is going to come out with both instant reverse and the full power reverse on the same motor.

Will you be able to retro fit older motors to add the instant reverse?

Tell me about this ''reverse pin puller''? And where can I get one? I hate having to reach around that hot engine.

Here's the guy whom makes them number. They are $130 (shipping included I think). Nice guy from around Denham Springs I think. There's a YouTube video on it. It works just like they show it. No trick photography lol.

I'm not 100% sure but I think it could be retrofitted to the older motors. I'm happy with my full power reverse. I've already spent enough money on all the mods on my 09 Pro-Drive

That's a pretty good idea. PD should do something like this from the factory.

You will like the reverse if ever you get stuck.

I said the same thing. The guy said he had talked to PD about selling it to them but PD backed out. He said he thought it was mostly because it wasn't PD's idea. Who knows.

X100!

Shawn I would have NEVER gotten out of this spot with a GT. As it was it took me 30 min of digging to make a hole big enough to get out with my PD.

Yikes, yeah I definitely see the purpose of the full power reverse. I just see me using the instant reverse everytime I put the boat in the water and I'm not sure I'd say the same about the PD reverse. The 2 reverses are built for 2 different things obviously. Do you PD guys use the reverse when pulling up to boat launches or blinds much like you'd use an outboards reverse to slow you down or are y'all just coming in slow and doing the good ole bump stop? To me the PD reverse is there strictly for getting unstuck which don't get me wrong is very valuable at times.

If u have the hydro reverse it really doesn't take long to put it in reverse. I just like knowing the fact I have the full power reverse for the thick stuff. I'll take that over just the instant reverse any day of the week.
