West Texas Hunt

Just had a killer hunt in west Texas with my wife, we also had our Taxidermist from Africa with us since he was in town for all of the SCI and DSC hunting shows .
First day my wife hammers a HUGE axis buck in velvet ! With a hour left of daylight I shot a pig at 918 yards! 187 inch hold over with my 270wsm! Everyone literally crapped themselves! My previous longest kill was 475 yards in Africa last year .

Next day my wife shot a STUD 10 point that was super wide . Not a good shot and it took off running , called in the dogs to help track the deer . While waiting for the dogs we were able to put my taxidermist on a nice axis buck , his first Trophy in America! We tracked my wife's deer until midnight w/o luck and called it a night . The next morning started back tracking but never could recover the animal .

The last day my wife shot another nice 10 point . . .....now it was time for me to try for my trophy whitetail . We rode and glassed the mountain sides in an area that was super rugged and steep . We located a whitetail that we estimated at + 170" but by the time I got a scope on him all I could see was a white arse cresting the ridge , ... HE GONE... Right at dark I spotted a very nice painted desert sheep across a valley on another ridge ..... I ranged the ram at 255 yards , sat down on the cliff took the breath and hammered big whitey ! His legs fell out from under him n down he went!!
