Default Boss Drives

I am not sure how many of yall are familiar with this new drive yet. Apparently it is a new brand from Mud Buddy called Boss Drives. They are being built by Howell Industries right there in Sulphur. I believe Henderson will be the distributor.

Anybody see one yet? I'm not real sure if they have hit the market yet. Hopefully the quality is a bump up from mud buddy. I do alot of business with Howell and I know they wouldnt put their name on something that isnt quality. We shall see.

Go to mudmotor talk.com and research this boat/motor package. I don't think they have the kinks worked out of this mudmotor yet.

It says mercury designed which throws a flag to me - if it were mercury they would be proud to say it, by throwing designed at the end I'm lead to believe that the parts and assembly aren't the same.

Just my view...

I took it as mercury internals are used. Which the parts themselves would be mercury designed. As in a mercury designed transmission.

Yea, but are the parts made by the same folks that produce the parts for mercury? I can buy a design and use anyone's parts (maybe cheaper materials and company making them) to build per that design and have it assembled by anyone able to.

Could be mistaken, but think they are designed and built by Landry and fruge that own Howell ind. it's not manufactured by the same "mudbuddy" manufacturer.

Saw some foot castings this week at their shop. They also opened a separate business on Highway 27 south of Jerry's Marine. I can't wait to go run one when they are ready. Won't be long. Doug and Rodney are both standup guys who would not put out an inferior product.

Yes they did/do(?). Great service but did sell it. Have a friend that has a MB sport v. Great motor when running but it's been one problem after another. Engine is great, but the rest is junk.
