My dad had a local made skiff kept it 20 years, but every time he mounted into the boat
it was my job to put 3M 5200 in the hole. The Champion boat company in 99 almost went out of buisness trying to change to composite, the warranty clamis for Composite Cracking just about took them under. A lot of backyard type boat builders do not use
composite because they are from the old school of building boats and are scared to use
it, it is a lot more labor to do composite correct. My last boat was a Canyon Bay and I
spent some time if Florida checking out my boat during the making of it.

There is nothing wrong with wood in a boat if done right. My whaler is a 1970 and still solid as a rock. Biggest thing is to keep it covered not allowing standing water on the floors.

The history is all messed up now, several of the posts were deleted by mods so the whole series make no sense now, not that it did in the first place.

Hurry up and sell me your boat before I buy that rocket. BTW, Mercury has a new Verado Pro series - supposed to have the same performance as as ProXS

I am sure the wood in your hull has already dry rotted so I am ready to deal.

Thanks for the heads up, I am on the phone with Mercury now trying to work out a trade for the faster engine.

If you get that baby 250 you will have a really nice view of my Talon. Don't be scared, buy the Yam 300.

However, if it doesn't work out, you have my #...

If the pro series can get the MPG that the Pro XS gets then that will be a great engine. My verado sucks down the gas at WOT. I see almost all positive feedback on the 250SHO other than the people that still believe the HO will not run well with a 20 inch shaft.

One of the boats I ran around this past summer was a 2010 24 skeeter with a 350 yammy. Great fuel consumption. We were loaded with 5 people one day and got 65 mph.

I had a 225 4 stroke on my bluewave, awsome engine!
62 was my top speed.
Cruised at 45 and sipped fuel

I have a 150 Yamaha. Great milage, except for WOT.
When you hear that Whoooomp, back off a little or pay out the azzz.
I filled up my truck and boat last night.
Boat was half full, took $88 to fill up the other half.
Truck was almost empty, credit card stopped me at $100.

Sorry but I'm not wrong here. According to skeeter max hp on that boat is 300. Not saying he didn't have a 350 but it would be nearly impossible to get the boat insured with over the max hp, not to smart.
