How do you cook Wild Turkey
Have a full breast and 2 thigh/leg combos from the turkey I shot this weekend. No skin on meat. |

I like to make a brown gravy with legs, thighs, wings, and neck. Then take the breast, cut into strips, dredge in flour only and fry... Come out great every time.

I have a Cajun hibachi grill. I marinated a few days, cut the breast into strips and cooked on the hibachi. Best wild turkey I have eaten.

brine the breast.
1/2 cup of salt disolved into a gallon of water soak your turkey in it for 8-12 hours and cook it like you would a store brought turkey. |

I just take the breast and cut it up into strips and fry. Easiest way and very tasty

I cut the breast off each side of the bird on my last one. I seasoned it with lots of Tony's and put in on the BBQ pit for 30 minutes [not sure of the time]. I put some BBQ sauce on it just before it was done cooking.
Came out great. I got the other side of the breast in the freezer, and might do the same. I also tirmed several thin pices off the Turkey breast and "fried" them in a skillet with some butter and sprinkled with Tony's. I baked a whole wild turkey one time, complete with stuffing. I injected it first and let it sit for a couple hours. Breast meat was great, but after chewing on some leg meat for 5 minutes......let's just say it was very tuff. Here is a pic of my last stuffed wild turkey breast. . |
