Default Need input

I am looking at buying a 2006 22' sea chaser with a 175 Suzuki 4 stroke. It has power pole and hydraulic jack plate. I would like any input on this boat good or bad price is $13,000. It has been kept under shed and looks to be in good shape. It has 128 hours on the motor.

Looks like a great boat..... Good buy for sure Tony

Not sure the weight of the boat but only thing that could possibly have question is if its under powered. Which really don't make that much of a big deal

Almost sounds too good to be true....if everything checks out that is a good buy. First thing you gotta do is take off that goofy useless whale tail.

Boat weight is 2010 lbs dry, he said it runs about 45 wot. You don't think the thing on the bottom of motor is worth having?

Nope....all they are is a bandaid for a prop issue. Most of the time on bay boats the dealers install the wrong syle prop for the boat. On a bay boat you need a prop with a larger diameter like a mercury mirage. The whale tails will actually hurt performance....they cause drag and loose speed.

Another big problem people have is the motor mounted too low on the transom causing drag and porpoising. You won't have that problem with a hydraulic jack plate.

Agreed.....it is more important to have a good cruise speed at 35-40mph without burning too much gas. Suzuki's are great on fuel if they are propped right. They need to be able to turn 6,000 rpm's at WOT. Any less than that you will not get a good cruise speed, burn more fuel, and have a bad holeshot.

Motor slightly undersized for 22' boat BUT I could deal with it at that price. Just get a compression test done, open the hatches if it looks clean and organized chances are owner took care of it , if it looks a mess ......

yeah I would bring it to a shop and get them to run the computer data and see how many hours he ran it at each rpm level and get the compression tested. Sounds like a great deal. I would make sure all the electrical components work too(livewells, bilge pump, etc) Sounds like a great deal though
