Default Advice Please

I just purchased this truck this week. 07 tundra w/ the 5.7 eng. I'm only getting 14 av. MPG so for.

Can anyone tell if if getting a superchip for this truck would be worth the cost. Was hoping to get a little better gas mileage.

It has 295 /70R 18 tires.

Please advise as I haven't had a truck that was lifted and so forth before.

The owner indicated that he was getting about close to 17-18 MPG.

I guess he was NOT telling me the truth.

Thanks

Biggun

Yeah a chip will help it as long as you keep your foot out of it. It can help fuel mileage or hurt it depending on driving style. Also with the chip if you add a Cold air intake and cat back exhaust it will give you noticable power and fuel mpg increase. Never had a Tundra but have had Chevy gas trucks and Dodge and Ford diesels and chipped them all. Remeber Obama says keep the air pressure correct to maximize mpg.

My uncle has a crewmax with the 5.7. Best he gets is 16-17 on the hwy and 12-13 in town. Lift and oversize tires= bad mpg,no way around it.
