I like the split grip foam, makes the rod a little lighter and your hand is closer to the blank. plus cork gets all dirty and discolors quick.

Depending on rod, but foam on all my light rods. Cork grips get wrapped anyways before they hit the water. Other than lighter, not sure of any other advantages.

Personal preference I guess. I.like cork for the look. They both get slipperier than owl **** after a few fish, so pick your poison and go with it

I have always had cork, but last 2 rods I bought are foam and I favor that over cork now. Just feels better in my hand. Fiancé bought me another 200e7 for Christmas so I need to get another rod.

Haha I bet u do! They quit making the Shimano Curado E series, so I just got this new one stashed away for now cause I already got 2 of them. Gonna hold off a while till I use it but when I look into a new rod I'll definitely check your's out.

More of a personal preference than advantage.. I have tried both cork and split grip foam, cork is my old faithful but for certain types of fishing I do find the split grip more comfortable.
