Those of you that live east of Red Stick are probably familiar with a WWL-TV Channel 4 character named Frank Davis. Many people wouldn't have guessed, but, Frank has survived some major medical situations....liver and lung cancer, prostate cancer and diabetes, just to name a few. Well, now he may have encountered the worst one of all. He has this little-known illness that attacks and destroys the body's nervous system. It has a big, long name that I wouldn't even attempt to type. He can't even sit up in bed. He's gone from crutches, to a walker, to a wheel chair and now has a special hospital bed in his home to help cope. He and his wife are leaving their home in Slidell to move to Texas so Frank can undergo treatment at a specialized center by a doctor trained for this type of illness.

Gosh, I remember hardly being able to wait until Thursday night for Frank's Fishin' Game Report that came on during the local news. What a character!! As many of you know, Frank is also an accomplished chef and has authored many south Louisiana cook books. He also hosted a weekly segment showing all the culture of this part of the state.

I wish he and his family all the best as, together, they take on this serious illness. Hang in there, Frank...you are truly "Naturally N'Awlins".

I use to love Frank Davis till I met him. He blew me off like a bum. With that being said I wish his family all the best.

I had a much different experience.
Me and my bro were fishing the trestles and frank Davis was doing some fishing with capt Kenny kreeger. Well Kenny wasn't putting fish in boat & we were. So frank gets on radio and asks if he can video us catching . Well of course I agreed& my lil bro caught a 5# trout on video for franks show.
Frank met us at the dock and we spoke for a while. He autographed a cookin book of his for both of us.
Very nice guy from my experience. Really sad to hear this.
