Cheers Fast Crab Review

I wanted to post a review of my new toy I used last weekend. First I have to give props to Biglaketiger for his crab recipe. We backed and cleaned the crabs then boiled them. Then we put them in an ice chest and shook em up in butter, garlic powder and squeezed lemons. Damn they were good. The Fast Crab machine works just as shown in the video. I heard it works better if the crabs are cold but we did not have any sit that long. Once you press the crab the meat comes out and you just scoop it up with your hand, may have a little piece of shell to pull out. Then throw a handfull of crab meat in your mouth like you are eating peanuts. It leaves a little meat in the shell but not much. It will come in real handy with left over crabs. It is actually fun to sit there drinking beer and smashing crabs. I also got the Fast Claw tool which worked really well on med to large claws. If you catch and boil alot of crabs I would definatly recommend getting one.

They are about 100 bucks, You can save yourself 50 and I'll see you mine for 50..... It's a piece of crap I dont think it really works that well. A guy Bayou Blue (Houma Area) invented it so if you live close to him you can actually pick it up at his house.

I have one I built about 12 years ago similar to that. I based one off of a design my ex paw in law had built many more years ago. I haven't tried boiling the crabs first then pressing. I always iced them down for a day them pressed them raw. It works pretty good, just a bit messy. But it beats the tar out of hand picking. Takes a LOT of crabs to make it worth using imo. I'll use it once or twice a year and press a few gallons of meat.

Always wondered if someone tried to market a similar design, because I thought about making some and trying to sell them.
