My new favorite for crabs is on the bit. I don't mind the extra work to throw them on the pit. Love some Jack Millers on dat!

I use BBQ seasoning. Pull top shell and gills off of crabs. Season well and pace on pit. Spray a couple times during cooking with some Cajun blast. Hard to beat.

Anyone know how Harris's seafood or Aucoin's did theirs? That's what I'm looking for on the BBQ crab side. Man them things were finger licking good.

Best I could come up w was a sweet BBQ sprinkle season on the crabs which and been dipped in karo syrup
And then flash fried. Can anyone verify or correct this?

I had the opportunity to try "BBQ Crabs" when we were in Grand Isle. We had the charcoal pit lit and coaled over, around 275. Pulled up crab trap at the dock, got a couple crabs out, walked over to the pit and threw them on. No season or cleaning. Took them off the pit after 15 or 20 minutes and ate em like you would boiled crabs. Meat was cooked, tender and you could taste that distinctive sweetness that only a blue point crab can provide.

That's the I only way I cooked them. No seasoning though. I like the sweet flavor.

I'll have to try this one day. My buddy use to steam his crabs and they came out really good too. He made a basket for his boiling pot that was about 4" shorter than the pot. He put 3 bricks on the inside of the pot that the basket would sit on. Load the crabs into the basket and steam them for 20 minutes. They always came out good.
