Not saying that's the case here, but based on what we know it very well could be.

There's the flip side of the coin
I'm so lazy I'm a list u.

The post said "what would you do". People answered. Others got offended of answers that didn't meet what they were looking for.

Typical sensitivity. People come here for opinions that support theirs, and cry when they get one that doesn't. Then moan in the next breath about how America isn't America anymore.

He clearly stated "the guy had a bat". Well, call the cops unless you are ready to crack skulls and go to jail. The damaged your property with baseballs, call the cops or fight it out. Obviously their parents are idiots, otherwise they wouldn't be heckling and smacking balls at the car.

Were they standing close to the car and hitting baseballs at it on purpose at 15 yrs old??????

Were they playing street ball and a grounder hit the rim?????

Clearly not enough information, yet I'm the moron.
Again you got a problem with me?

So what would I do?
1) I'd take some pride in my property n clean up all the mess , living somewhere longer doesn't give you the right to live in a mess for the neighbors to look at.
2) I would have went to the kids parents house myself and told them what the problem was
Can you read

the hoodlums were hitting base balls at my mothers car!
frankly i dont understand the reasoning that it was ok due to the way the yard looked.
i guess in a communist society that they way it looks makes it ok.

i for one dont think so.

i find it appalling to think some would think so.

from what i gather reading the comments i did the right thing.

probably best too as im a little unstable and would have enjoyed getting my ars kicked and kicking some too.

i must warn yall if ur kids try to damage moms stuff and i tell u then u come off acting like a school yard bully it gets no were with me. just the cops.

i am done with this thread thanks for the view into society that is so disturbing no wonder im a recluse.

ratdog out.

Good lord.

Where did anyone say it was ok to hit balls at your car?

I don't know you, and don't have a problem with you. If you don't want unbiased advice, don't ask for it on the WWW

They guy had a baseball bat so I called the cops.

What would you have done.
ida went inside and put on an orange nomex and a mask. came around from a different yard to make it look like it wasnt me and chased them down the street. preferably with a cane knife in one hand and a long rusty chain dragging the ground in the other. was it close to dark? if so this technique's success rate more than doubles.

Where did I encourage people to "fight and ignore laws" I deem unreasonable?

I broadly encourage full compliance with duly passed laws including drug laws, tax laws, laws protecting the rights and property of others, etc. Even laws in place without apparent reason or proper motivation should be obeyed.

I also encourage participation in the process to prevent too many stupid laws from being passed by the legislature and to work for repeal of stupid laws that have been passed.

So you haven't been fighting against trip tail or the 15 trout limit ?
Those stupid laws are based in as much science as cannabis prohibition.

There's a key difference between advocating that a law be changed (which I have done) and advocating that a law be ignored (which you erroneously claimed that I have done.)

Louisiana law requires that wildlife and fisheries be managed with the best available science.

There is no general requirement for other laws to be grounded in science.

So you agree pot laws are not based in science ?

Our founding fathers agreed that forcing citizens to be unarmed was more dangerous, which is why the US Constitution and Louisiana Constitution both recognize the right to keep and bear arms.

If the Constitution had guaranteed the right to own and use marijuana, I would oppose the passing of laws that infringed on that.

Finally, you are being dishonest to say "we shoot guns like crazy." Many family members are enthusiastic shooters, but far from shooting "guns like crazy" we are absolutely dogmatic about gun safety.

All family members who shoot participate regularly in both safety and marksmanship training. We obey all the gun safety rules. The informal shooting ranges on our properties have carefully constructed backstops, carefully considered and approved safe shooting directions, noise abatement improvements, and limited shooting hours to minimize potential disturbance to others in the neighborhood.

It is unfortunate (and suggests an agenda to restrict RKBA) that you portray safe and legal use of firearms as "crazy."
