We just lean ours against the rail and leave the drag loose.
There are a few simple ones left there semi-permanently. We have enough fishing stuff to carry around. |

A friend of mine actually came out with his own product called the pier-a-mount. I've never used it, but seems like a pretty nifty product.

haha
if you put enough poles out you can block everyone else off the pier, if only you could reel in more than one pole at a time

We'll have several kids between 10 and 16, so they may end up being my rod holders. I'll have to check out that pier-a-mount. Mathgeek, we rented a house on the beach about a mile past Bridgeside. Any hope to grab a couple bulls out there this time of year? We tore them up at the pier in July, and only had one good hook up in two days on the beach.
