the guys i tuna fished with in the gulf are based out of destin but we fish the green canyon area south of fourchon. anyways the week after our trip last feb. they caught a blusfin in the 800 lb class!! they said it took 8 hrs togrt it in the boat. 5hrs to the surface it died then 3 hrs to winch it in the boat they then had to sawzall the fiberglass fish box to fit the fish in it !!! i have been on thier boat and seen how massive the fish box is!!! i saw a crapppy quality pic from the captians cell phone at venice marina HUGE!!!

they used to pass through Venice back in the day. Have heard lots of stories of Volkswagens jumping out of the water. One spooled a 80W like it was nothing!!

But like all tuna, they have been over fished and now you have to go WAY out for them. They still pass through, but only at a certain time of year.

80wide spooled man that would be even sweeter than catching one imo
