Default Fruit tree freez damage

Many people suffered damage to there fruit trees this past winter when the temperatures got down to the low 20's.

I am about ready to "trim" back some of my fruit trees...... but is it still too early to do this????

My Navel Orange tree has steadily shown more new growth each month [see pic]. The pic showing my hand was taken just a couple of days ago. A couple of months ago it actually had a few flower on the lower limbs, but none of them made fruit.

My Tangerine tree also suffered major freeze damage. I have not see any new growth since early April on it. My Satsuma had some damaged limbs that did not make a comeback.

What have Ya'll seen and done with your freeze damage trees?

Heart breaking I know, several of my trees are the same. Now that new growth is established and the damaged part is obviously dead go to wacking the dead part off.

Pulled mine out the ground. Only 4 out of 11 survived. I had planted them the year before so they weren't established enough to survive the freeze. The only new growth I was getting was below the graft. Everything above the graft was toast.

I replanted a lemon and navel around March. I'll replace the rest next planting season.
