The sounds of drag stripping is like no other. No matter the species my knees start knocking when I hear that sound! Doesn't even have to be on my rod and reel. Wading and helping your buddy snag a good one with the boga can be pretty heart pumping as well. Especially when the fish runs between your legs huh gib!!

For me when I'm on the water nothing else matters...work and everything else doesn't seem to exist...just me and mother nature, taking it all in to slow down everyday life and remember what its all about...its always more fun to catch but even if i dont its still all good...and the most enjoyable way to throw away money...

I fish because I enjoy taking in the outdoors. It doesn't get any better than being on plane down a canal at first light with the fog lifting. You can smell the salt sometimes. Sharing this with my loved ones is why I fish. Regardless if we catch or not, it's always worth it. It is nice to rack up a meat haul though, lol.

To be honest, I fish and hunt because I feel closest to God because when you're in the outdoors you look around and KNOW there's a higher power. And to take the resources that he gave me to bring back home to my family. That right there is why I go back. That's why I live in sw Louisiana. Because it is sportsmans paradise and any day of the week I can have a delicacy sitting on my table that I caught that God put here for me.

I love it because not only are you at natures helms but piecing the puzzle together is only one deboggle. Making em eat n trucking em to think that ur bait is better than aaaall the other baits/fish etc. catching when no one else is makes it better but I'm a sucker for letting ppl in on secrets because if not for ppl like spinna and a few others on here I wouldn't have had nearly the amount of success I have had this yr. sunrise and sets 2. I love taking pics. Ain't nothing like 3 stops nothing 4th stop game on! Or something everyone else passes up and u drop pp and lay hamma and burn 1/8 of a gal of gas. Meeting new/good ppl is another great reason to fish.

fishing is my stress reliever along with hunting and being in the outdoors, I have learned more about myself on the water than anywhere else and no matter what is going on in my life i can always go chunk a line and all my worries go away and as much as i enjoy smoken em I enjoy helping someone else catch fish even more. Also, you cant beat the taste of fresh fish.

The poem below that my wife wrote says it all for me!!
A "Reel" Passion He can barely see his hands in front of his face as he blindly yet mechanically rigs his gear. The sun is almost up and he knows the specs will be biting close in this time of year. He turns his cap backwards, and braces himself for the spray of cold water as he gets on step. "Adjust trim tabs, standing by on channel 16, John Conlee CD on and the G.P.S. is set". His heart races anticipating anchoring at his newly discovered "secret spot". "Now who is this moron eyeing my location and coming in way too hot". He casts to the west but his eyes are competitively watching the invader anchored at his bow. A bite!... Set the hook; a sly southward glance, and a silent "How do you like me now?" A beer, some sandwiches, the legal limit, and salt on his sun-chaffed lips, Yes, lock in these coordinates: This was surely one of his best spec trips. But the day became perfect watching porpoises as he came back in through the canal during a light, sunny rain.... Gleaming down at his little boy who was already begging, "Daddy, when can we do this again?" Andrea 2003 |

Think everyone on this site should quit fishing and start playing golf....once you mastered golf than you can fish again
