Default Finally drew blood!
Got on my stand this afternoon around 3:30. Was my first sit on this stand this year. Was feeling pretty confident with the weather and whatnot. Heard what I'm pretty sure was some deer stirring in the woods behind me it never could see them through the thicket. Then suddenly something big and black down the pipeline about 200 yards. And he was about to make it all the way across I whistled real loud and he turned straight at me. Shouldered my rifle and he turned just a little and I let the .30-06 bark! Dropped him in his tracks! My first blood of the season with the big gun. Due to the size, smell, and sex of this particular animal I donated him to the new light baptist church down the street and they were more than happy to take him! Yep, a big nasty!! Nice hunt. I've been dropping them like a bad habit at my place, no deer yet for me but every time I go out me or my daughter shoots 1 r 2. Shot 2 Tuesday.

That's not a real bad problem to have! lol I haven't seen one on this lease in probably three years. But I had been getting pics of this guy and his buddies and was waiting for him.

Yeah it's kinda been a problem for me, not seeing any deer. Only had a buck and a doe on the trail cam since September , not good!! It's kinda like red fish. There fun at first but not what I'm really after, lol

That is a classic gun, my father once had one of those, he like to chase those Kansas deer back in the day.

It's a 742 Woodmaster .30-06 jamamatic. Was my grandfather's and my dads and know mine. I've beer seen it miss. Leupold Vari X 2 3-9x40 on top.
