I'm sure there is some birds in Sabine. It always holds teal in September. Last year sucked bad cuz it was all salt water. I'm pretty sure it's gonna be good this year. I haven't been out there. But the crowds usually aren't too bad during teal season.

Chris, gonna miss you in GC. Huntin' teal in the rice fields is like a dove hunt; just doesn't have the quality of all the variables that marsh huntin' brings to a duck hunt. But the guys in GC will forgive you none the less on this transgression!

I'm ready, saw some teal in our vinton marsh while picking up lines on Friday...they weren't there before Friday though and we were in the marsh from Saturday til that Friday for gator season. I'd estimate that we saw somewhere around 500 and every flock was coming from the North.

Saw a field on 1126 south of Roanoke this afternoon that had a good thousand flying around. Tried to take a pic but the big flocks stayed away from truck.

Leaving early tomorrow for the GC camp. Setting out dekes, boats and piroques. Hope everyone have a safe and great hunt. Enjoy the traditions of opening weekend and pass them on to the younger ones. Hard to believe its already here.
