I have always wondered, what is the main difference between say a revo s and one of the higher end revo's?

If you have a wild hair and want to try something new while not spending a whole lot of $, then go to Academy and buy an H2O Express Mettle reel. Sells for $49.99. You will be shocked and sooo not disappointed. I carry Shimanos and Abu Garcia REVOs and the performance is about the same. Longevity is still up in the air. I was highly impressed for the money.

thanks moe. But when I need my equipment to do its job I cant trust a $50 reel. I have tried cheap reels that felt good and 3 months later I was buying another $50 reel. So, in 1 year I would spend $100-$150 in cheap reels. Where here I spend $160 on a jam up reel once every 3 years. I've learned my lesson! If I was a high school Kid that went fishing 5 times a year then yeah. But I fish 2-3 times a week.

I just bought a revo s, my first higher end baitcaster. So far I really like it now that it's dialed in. I had to change string 3 times until I got it right, it's sitting with 15lb big game now.

Try Sunline Super Flour. It's a great string!
