Exclamation i have a paralyzed arm, please help!

well, as you can see in the title thread, my arm had got paralyzed from an accident due to some 75 yr old's stupidity on thinking he was still able to drive ! but that besides the point. NOW, im fricking trying to figure a way out to hunt and its driving me insane!!
its my right arm thats paralyzed. i figured a way out to fish and its going perfectly as planned! my buddies can also fish with one hand and a beer in the other while pushing the button to "reel her in"! lol. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HELPING ME FIGURE A WAY OUT TO GET A GUN MADE AND HOW AND WHO I CAN GET TO MAKE ONE WOULD BE VERY VERY VERY APPRECIATED!!!!

How would you be planning on holding a gun? Against right or left shoulder?

Interesting question and one I've never thought about. Like Angler what type of hunting? If its deer from a blind a regular left hand actioned rifle will work because it can be supported on the window ledge. Freehand I don't know. Maybe a sling assembly of some sort.

Just saw your reply about geese. How about a ring around you that you can place the barrel of the shotgun on to steady it and that you can stand up or squat to change the elevation of the shot. The barrel will slide around the ring so you can follow the action. Sort of a turret type setup. Thats all I can come up with a the moment.

Edit: I don't duck/goose hunt but if I'm not mistaken it is done from a bind of some sort.

Check some of these items that are made for wheelchairs but could probably be modified on the attachment part to secure on something else like a chair, stand or box stand.

I would think a super light gun for sure...a grip would help with stablilty...could have an appartus that would strap on and hold your arm out and you could use that to rest the gun on as you aim...I think that is how a guy that I know that has one arm shoots..

sorry to hear it! get an over and under or side by side shot gun. It will take some time, patience, and practice, but you should be able to shoot it one armed.

Default Gun Suggestion

Sorry to hear that man,

I just called a friend of mine who hunts with someone who has 1 arm. This guy shoots a 12 Gauge Browning Gold Hunter...Very well.

I was very suprised by his answer because this guy is not very big.

I'm assuming this accident recently happend; so my advice would be to shoot a crack barrel 20 gauge for a while until your arm adjust to the extra workload.

This guy shot 12 doves last year with 14 shells, and my buddy saw him shoot a triple on ducks, so keep your spirits up you will be banging em soon enough.

Hope this helps, wish you luck.

I hunted with an older guy who had only one arm.
He shot a 20 ga. automatic cause it was light weight.
He was pretty good, but was a little slow getting the gun up.
Teal ate him up.
You just need to shoot some skeet until you get used to it.
