Default New (used) 22

Anyone know a gun repair shop in the B.R. area that can acid dip , polish and reblue a 22?
This afternoon i bought a marlin golden mountie 39-A for $100.
This gun is one of the top 3 shooting semi auto production 22s on the market.
Dang fool who had it had stored it in a shed so it has a bunch of surface rust on the bbl and the reciever. No bad pitting that i can tell.
Just need to get it cleaned up and redone .

Give Reynerson's in Central a call. Mr. David is probably one of the best. He also runs the gun repair at Bowie's. His wife takes care of everything at the Central shop. If you call Bowies ask for Mr David, If you call Central shop ask to speak to Ms Lydia. Central #(225) 261-4860

Do they paint (camo) on shotguns? I have a black syn. that I would like it to have a Max-4 paint job.

Ms Lydia used to hand paint guns, she did a buddy's turkey gun & it was awesome, don't think she does it anymore. You can call ask her.

glad there's no real gun nuts here! I was reading an artical on the nylon 66 while typing about the gun i bought.
The marlin golden 39-A mountie is 1 of the top 3 in its class but it is a LEVER action not semi auto. Just checked the serial # and this gun and i are the same age . OLD! Both hatched in 58

when you said 39a i knew lever action. i have 2. does yours have the hood over the front sight? also my offer of 200 was decent look up the value of a fair condition mountie its about 250-300. if its rusted and needs to be re-blued then the value drops considerably.

Default Nope

It's a 1958 model. From what i was told is that this is the way it came .
Ramp sights ,Smooth wood ( no checkering) . I have run a couple a shells thru it just to check the action and extractor.
I have seen a few in great shape go for 500 and it's not rough just needs polishing and blueing. So i figure ,for 100 i stole it.
