Per Gerald's post:

Call this number to get update on the Grand Bayou weir. This is a recording so it is available 24/7.

They were open today. Watched 2 guys in an aluminum bay boat get inside the 250 mark and catch a huge red.

I just called [my] number above and got the recording.

Grand bayou boat bay is open because of high water level in the marsh. It will close when the water goes back down.

Is there a place to bank fish by the Grand Bayou weir. We are coming in from north louisiana to do some fishing and crabbing and was looking for a place to get away from the crowds and take the kids. Any information would be great. Thanks.

Grand Bayou and Lamberts bayou are part of the East Cove unit of the National Refuge. There rules do not all anyone to get out onto the land.

If caught you will get a ticket which is a stiff fine. Same for fishing inside of 250 feet from the wier.
