growing up, i remember sitting at the bridgeside on Gi on a Sunday afternoon watching these drunks trying to get there boats back on the trailor. My dad would get us both an ice cream and we would sit on the picnick table for hours just watching the "freak Show"

Watched some knucklehead at CP on Sat PM trailer his boat on the center slot. He then proceeded to pull up just far enough to get the whole rig of the ramp. That's where he then started loading kids into the truck, stowing life jackets, putting on transom straps.... all while he had the whole area pretty well blocked off.

I thought that the 3-4 acres of good road base parking area was where you were supposed to do all of that.... guess I was wrong.

Building and modding surface drive motors we used to always test them at the Bonnet Carre Spillway. It was always a show out there. Its like an imbred family reunion out there on the weekends.

That guy did not have a clue whose trailer he was pulling up to. I wish I would have let him pull onto the trailer just to see the look on Bull Breams face. What you think his padnas would have thought when they backed down and their buddy was out the water already?

There is a launch at Lake Houston that was wide enough for a guy to get his truck and trailer parallel to the water. He needed some pvc poles in the worst way.

You should see the look on some of the know it alls when I pull my surface drive out while it is still running. I usually do it when there are a bunch in the way. The look on their face when I past by them on the way to the camp. One told me that I was going to burn the water pump, so I asked him how many times he burnt the water pump on his lawn mower

Wow.

Just.

Wow.

So he really didn't think that leaving his trailer in the middle of the ramp approach was going to be a problem for anyone?

He blocked 2 of the 3 boat ramps at Calcasieu Point.
But it is o.k., they were driving a Lexus. It is o.k. to do if you drive a high dollar SUV. Not if you drive a normal everyday vehicle.

Oh, okay. I didn't realize they were in a Lexus. I feel so foolish for being aggravated about it.....

*sigh*

No one did anything to the vehicle? Like maybe a pile of fish guts laid up on top of the muffler?

I picked up my boat and left. There was a line of boats waiting for me to leave so they could launch. If I had someone with me, we would have moved the trailer so it was sideways with the SUV.

Better than that would have been to take it off the hitch and hide it.

I have a question...I fish a lot by myself. What is the rule of thumb, do I launch then move my boat and go tie it up and leave the truck there while I do that, blocking a lane while I do it.) Or do I tie it close and block the lane, with my boat there, while moving my truck? Thanks.
