If my choices came down to an Okuma or a Shimano.....it's a no-brainer. You will not find a baitcaster anywhere near the price of a Curado that will perform flawlessly trip after trip. Ask "W".

you are comparing apples to oranges, of course its a no brainer. there are many different levels of reels and the ones you are putting against this okuma rode the elevator a little higher

Knew you couldn't resist this Salty.

The Serrano was not meant to compete with the Chronarch or the Core - no one ever said it was. It was made to compete with and outperform the Revo and the Curado and all of the reports that I have read said that it will hold up it's end of the bargain, otherwise I wouldn't fool with them. More importantly, it was made SPECIFICALLY for inshore applications.

Is it a Chronarch? Nope. But it's a damn good reel...
