To be honest with you, I don't pay attention to this...
I'm always running different speeds depending on the water conditions, and looking more at what's around me than at my instruments. And I judge the performance of my engine more by sound than anything else |

About one mph per 100 rpm up to 4k, around 4 k the boat lifts and speed increases to 44 mph, 5 k is 57 mph, 5600 64 mph yamaha Hpdi 250. Under 4 k 2.9 Mpg 3/4 tank of fuel 2 men and tackel

This is a very good average for almost all boats. Many bay boats keep this rule of thumb all the way to the top speed if propped and powered correctly. 5500 = 55. The faster hulls will run over and the heavier ones will not quite keep up this rule of thumb
