Default GI - shore fishing/wade fishing

Anyone have any luck lately? A few of us thinking of taking the ladies down and fish round Elmer's island.. Looking for trout or reds. What you caught them on? Any tips appreciated . No need for honey holes..

Ha!

I don't know I thought YOU would know!!!

That's just what my buddy told me.

I'll talk to him tonight and ask him.
It's somewhere on the backside of the island.

Buddy caught 38 last Friday morning by the rock piles. He said Elmer's was full of seaweed.

By the rock piles - is that the jetties just on the beach? Or a specific place?

The shipyard is on the east end of the island, I don't know if it is still called Grand Isle shipyard or not.

Fished Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning, beaches were full of seaweed and along with caminada pass. Fished the bridge at night and caught a few white trout, nothing to post pics of. I even tried along hwy1, and only saw a couple of people catch anything, 2 rat reds just at 16in. Weather was ****ty and winds were strong, may try again next week .
