TV antena help

What do I need in order for my old TV to catch local (CBS,NBC,ABC) stations? I have a camp a toledo with no cable or satellite. Want to be able to catch local channels. TV is an old Curtis Mathis.

Go get the one at radio shack. Its digital and a 120+ mile range. I had it at the track and could get from beaumont to lafayette to alexandria on it. Its the one thats about 6 ft long. I drove a slightly larger pipe in the ground and set a 20ft galvanized pipe in it so i could turn it to the station I wanted.

My buddy bought a marine digital antenna from a local place for $120. It catches 27 local stations. As far as hooking it into your TV, you may need to get the adapter that goes from a RCA jack to a single cable input if your old TV doesn't have an RCA input. If it’s not "cable ready" you will need to get one of those things that goes from a cable input to the split ends thing that you screw into the back of your TV, I haven't seen one of those in 25yrs though.

Another option if you have direct TV is to find an old dish and hook it up at your camp, when you leave for the weekend bring a DirecTV box with you and watch TV.

Some TV's also come with digital tuners built in but you not going to get as wide a range of channels as you would if you have a digital antennae.

I thought he would have to a digital converter box with his older analog TV no matter what type of antenna.

I haven't been able to catch any channels at Buckeye. I don't have an expensive antenna though.

My friend’s dad has one on his shrimp boat. He said he catches channels 20-30 miles offshore with it. When he's in Montegut he can catch Lafayette stations. The channels come in crystal clear too.

I couldn't catch any channel at Pleasure Point either.
