Default Atlas 6 inch Jack Plate

I'm presently in the market for a hyd. jack plate with a 6 inch setback. The Atlas looks like it has good reviews and the mechanism is mounted inside the plate. Has anyone had any problems with this unit or the company? Thanks for you thoughts on it.

After owning an Atlas, I just went with the new Bob's Action Jack on my new Yellowfin 24.

http://www.bobsmachine.com/products/...jac_series.cfm

I know Atlas has a lot of units on the water, but my Atlas cost me $400 over 15 months of ownership - down twice. 1) gradual leak down issue just sitting on the trailer or running; 2) the other was the ram lacked torque to trim boat over 50 mph. Warranty covered parts only, NOT freight or labor. That was my experience. I know of several guys that will not buy another Atlas. Others will say their Atlas has been flawless.

I know this though the new Bob's is quicker, smoother, quieter and stronger. Good luck.

FlagUS Jack plate

Thanks for the information. Didn't know Bob's had come out with this new one. Skeeter, did you order it from Bob's direct? Thanks again. Tom

Tom, no, although I did talk to the folks at Bob's to make sure I could add their JP boarding ladder.

Ladder - http://www.bobsmachine.com/Products/boardingladder.cfm

ACTION JP - http://www.bobsmachine.com/Products/...jac_series.cfm

I just told YF to put the Bob's Action JP (10 inch) on my new 24. YF has been a big Atlas shop except for the Yam 350s on the 24, and were VERY impressed with the new Bob's. Then I had two guys on my boat over in Galveston and they commented "night and day" difference with the Bob's over the Atlas.

Hope this helps.

Default Boarding ladder

Thanks again, for the info. Skeeter. Found their website. The ladder is a great idea; didn't know it existed!
