Do you cast a drop shot or just fish it vertically? Just curious.

Well I guess I did both! I kinda knew where the drop off was but I also watched my electronics to know where I was at! I did drag it sometimes and when I hit something I would let it sit or shake it gently

Not at all! I had a 7 foot spinning medium action falcon siting around so i put a penn spinning reel on it. Spooled it with 10lb braid with 7 foot leader of 8 lb fluorocarbon. The hook is a 1/0 gamakatsu worm hook. I chose it because i texas rigged the roboworm. I used a 1/4 oz pencil drop shot weight. If you haven't shopped on ebay lately you need to. I found hooks, weights, crankbaits, rattle traps, rod socks and much more for a lot less than i pay in the stores. Just takes a few more days to get it to you. For example i bought some deep diving crankbaits for $1.30/ea. When i got them they were well made and had good hooks! And they caught fish! I did order the roboworms from tackle wharehouse. With the money i saved on the other gear i was able to buy the robos. Hope this helps for some of ya!

drop shot rig
Quote:
i think it is something you have to play with to find out where to rig it. I had mine 14 inches from weight. But hey, i am just learning this as i go! I can see it might work good around the jetties or or ship channel for salt water fishing. |
