Default The first snapper in the new boat!

Took the family down to Grand Chenier for the weekend and put the boat in the water just after dawn Sat. morning. Ran to EC 148 and found cobalt blue water and calm seas. It was funny to see the kids, but man they worked my buttocks off! Between the fish, the rods, the bait, and the boat handling - I was a tired SOB Saturday afteroon!!!

We finished w/ our 12 snapper and 2 ling and a whole bunch of smiles. I checked several grass patches on the way in, only saw one triple tail that was worth fishing for, but I screwed the pooch and spooked him. Also, we saw a huge sea turtle that was really cool to witness.

Paul, the new boat is the $*@t!!!!! Ran all day and never tied up to a platform! 52 gallons of fuel, even with the grass patch running and we were 58 miles out.

Look at the expression on Connor's face when we took this picture of him and his first solo shark. He is like "I'm on the wrong end of this shark for a picture"!

They had a blast, especially when they put their goggles on and went for a swim!
