go check it out, stand on the cavitation plate of the motor and bounce up and down to make sure transom is solid

also stomp around inside on all the decks to check for soft spots.

that would make a good vermillion bay boat.

should be some good boat deals starting to pop up, the buying season is slowing down now.

I hear Cape Horn makes a superior boat. I don't know about the Merc. I'm a Merc owner right now, but I'm no fan of them.

Cape Horn is one heck of a boat. decent ride, very dry. As for the motor if the deal is as sweet as you say, sell the motor for whatever you can get and buy a yammie or Zuke

I think Merc is top notch..........it's the HotRod of the water, plus nothing sounds like a Merc V6........I'd rather a newer model, but you get what your wife and wallet tell you too..................................ya know??

cape horns are great boats..they are made in milton,FL. right outside pensacola..they have a cult following around here ...no wood,unsinkable...but new or used they are pretty proud on the prices.....also what you have there is a pre-2002 style hull which are known as a "wet horn" for the wet ride ...in 2002 they redesigned the hull and put alil more flare in the bow, they are kick *** now and very dry....i wish i could find me a used post-2002 17fter!
