Default Sabine Lake

Hit Sabine yesterday in the new boat. A few birds were pickin on the south end. It was calm enough to run the birds off and wait for the shrimp to pop. We were looking for trout (only caught 7) but found those damned redfish. I was throwing a cheap topwater when about 2 acres of reds came up around us. My son caught 3 before I could get mine in the boat but I had 2 on 1 bait. Landed both of em but ruined the bait. We caught reds for about 2 hrs and left em biting. Sabine has a lot of fish and less pressure but WAY more idiots. During the week its worth the trip but leave the weekends to the Texans who don't like to use there trolling motors (if they even have one).

I see several big lake anglers forgetting they have a trollingmotor too.

Big Lake has some crazies but the percentage on Sabine is probably close to 50%. You ask if thier trolling motor is broke and they reply "These new four strokes don't scare'em". The whole time they are coming up to YOU running off the birds YOU found first. Hard not to lose your religon on that lake. On Big Lake almost every guide would have cussed em!
