Default Goose Hunting

Hunted Saturday with 3 sports and my old friend Craig Burns came along to help me out with some of the duties and give the sports an extra limit of birds. Birds worked like a champ, everything came right in and was shot on the final pass. Should have been done by about 7:30, but there were a few rusty guns in the blind. Finished at 8:30.

Hunted today with a few friends. Birds were all fixed in on the group of about 400 specklebellies across the road. It was tough and we managed 4, but should have had our limit due to passing on a few shots we definately should have taken. Birds were plenty close, just not exactly where I wanted them so I passed. When I don't have sports, I always pass on shots I should take just to see how far I can push the birds, especially on a tough morning. I enjoy learning more about the birds rather than filling a limit. We left at 9 this morning.\

I can honestly say we are covered in birds (in Welsh). I haven't been to Klondike since the first split, but Welsh has a ton of birds. There are several bodies around us and you can't look in the sky and not see a group of snows somewhere. All in all, I had a blast this weekend.

Me too man.

I have been able to hunt everyday every year since I have been in college during winter break. I just started a new job that puts me back to being a weekend warrior. The real world sucks lol

Yea I do remember you not feeling good at all. It was a nasty morning too if I remember correctly, I think we had a little drizzle early on.

I'm a big fan of the strap shot or a pile shot vs the tailgate shot. That's how the guys arranged the birds and they put then belly down, only 1 juvie in the bunch. It was there first goose hunt and they had an awesome time
