Default Crawfish Traps/Techniques

Anyone have any small ones for sale ??
I just bought a collapsible one... going to put them in small ponds, canals and creeks by the house....

Another question is......... as i catch them, could i put them in an ice chest filled half full with water to keep them alive until i catch enough for a boil ?

We used to keep them in the fridge for up to a week I think it was, it may have just been for a few days though I don't remember, that was too many beers ago.

get you some pillow traps they'll work better, your wholesellers refrigerate them I would think as long as you kept them cool and out of water you would be ok for 3 or 4 days but i dont know about longer than that

You will need alot more than one trap!!!

I bought 40 traps last year from LA net and twine and only got enough crawfish to fill a sack on a couple of occasions.

BTW. The price on the website(LA Net and Twine) is real low because it hasn't been updated in 15 years or so. I think they were around $7.50 for the 30" traps

Shawn is correct, keep them cool, if a cooler is not available, keep them in an ice chest with a little ice, but with the plug out.
