Thumbs up White Perch action

yea so me and my uncle were supposed to go fishing thurs morning to try and get some white perch....... but needless to say he got off yesterday at 1:30 until after new years, so he went without me...... all were caught on the West fork with shiners and a small jig...... 28 total in about 2 hours...

When you go through the salt water barrier locks heading North on the Calcasieu river, the West fork joins the river on the left side a couple hundred yards past the barrier.

Or.....you can launch your boat on the West Fork.

There is a boat launch in Sam Houston State Park or there is another launch about a 1/2 mile north of where you turn off of Sam Houston Parkway road in Moss Bluff to go the the State Park.

Just remembered.....there is another boat launch a few miles farther north on the west fork. It is at the Holbrook Park. Not much boat traffic up in this area. The river is not very wide, but is fairly deep..... ~ 20 feet deep.
