Henderson would be a better choice. Lake martin is way to over fished.

i'd go to henderson, I fished there a few times already, I did good, I'd check to see if the water is falling, as long as the water is falling you catch, if it stays still the bite slows down tremendously.

The Atchafalaya river is falling........so Henderson should still be falling some.

Henderson
Water is still falling in Henderson. Yesterday while I was in a canal I could see some current flowing out to the main lake. Caught several goggleye while bass fishing with speedcraws so they should bite jigs or live bait. You can stay in the shade of the Intersate in the heat of the day.

I usually put in a butt la rose, I fish the grass in the first canal to the left, you can use an ultralight rod with some 2inch grubs with some crappie nibbles, I catch a lot right there, most of the time I don't even run the motor but maybe 200 yards.
