Default White Lake Preserve today

Fished White Lake Conservation area today with no success. Water was chocolate milk muddy throughout the entire canal system. Only managed one bass 13.5 inches long on a live shiner. Fished spinner bait, topwater, frog, beetle spin and live shiners. Talked with 3 other boats there, 2 of which fished last year. One said only bass and catfish on shiners but no sac a lait. Other boat said they caught 2 small sac a lait. Go figure! It is a beautiful canal system with lots of cover. If the water ever clears up should be good. We'll see....

Best part was seeing the Whooping Cranes flying overhead -- beautiful birds to see and hear! I hope they make it!

Water has been looking like that since Rita came through. I don't know what changed about that place but something did. It would be worth the boat ride out there if they would actually let us fish in the marsh and not the canals.
