Bayou D'Inde is probably the worst of all. I don't know if it is still this way, but I've been told that at one point, you could see the bottom like you were in a swimming pool--no vegetation or fish. Don't know how true that is, though.

Nothing that comes from the vermillion is getting on my plate!!
It's a shame that river is so nasty. So much potential there.

Just reread what I posted and found a screw up. I wrote better but I meant worse.

well I will scare the hell out of you........ I have been fishing in big lake for close to 40 years. A friend of mine who had a big environmental testing lab, told me over 7 years ago, that the whole estuary should be a superfund site.

I have cut way back on eating BG fish over the years. I'm still kicking though. lol

There is currently a project going on next to I 10 bridge what they are doing is pulling EDC out of the ground and recovering it from the water. Also the reason they have not redone I10 bridge is due to the EDC contamination that is residual from the EDC spill from the 90's. And if you think this would just wash away wrong EDC is heavier than water and sinks to bottom and pockets in the mud. In saying all that I catch fish all through the estuary and I eat em all. Love it or leave it if I die I die happy.
