Default VB 12/1

Had to fish hard today but this I what we caught along with about 40 reds right at 15 15/16" and also some bass on top water inside some cuts in weeks bay. lol water was clear, 62 degrees, wind was fast, and fishing pressure HIGH!

Mostly everything caught on LSU colored baits

Yeah I know. I got there at 11:00 and didn't get a bite for 3 hours. Drifted trash pile area at 2:00 and picked up 9 solid trout but took 3 drifts and about an hour.

I haven't really noticed that but I guess they are a little grey! One off thing that I noticed though is that lack of baitfish. I think that's why the bay is slower this year. Normally you can watch schools of bait come out the marshes and just sit there and catch a limit. It's not like that this year, I wonder why...

We caught some reds on the coast yesterday out of the bay and also noticed how white the fish looked. We kept 3 just under 27 inches and released some bigger ones.

When we cleaned them today after an overnight in the ice chest, their color was better, but they looked all bruised up as if they had been fighting. Maybe there is rutting in the fish world. The bruises were behind their head and forward of their tail. One had his gill plate actually damaged by whatever had grabbed it.
