Default Honey Hole Without the Honey!

Made our second hunt of the season "finally" on our lease due to lack of water.(up until this past week or so) Now there is so much water, the ducks are scattered everywhere it seems. Shot a few last week in my buddies blind. Decided to hunt one of our other holes this morning. This hole hasnt had decoys in it in 2 years. Figured it would be on,but didnt even fire a shot this morning. Watched 3 crazy wood ducks across the hole play around in the tree tops for a while. I gues they getting a head start on nest locations All we ended up with was a pretty sunrise. Figured I would report the bad hunts with the good. Wish we could rgulate the water levels, but hard to control mother nature.

Dont have either one.

We did entertain that thought a while back though. Problem is,is when the water is really low, there would be water in the hole, but not enough for us to navigate to it.lol

Looks like a great spot. I would get my son a tractor tell him to make a levee around. Is there a place to get water to it?

It usually always has water. Its actually a swamp,so getting a tractor out to it is kinda out of the question. Usually when Butte la rose is around 6' its perfect with about 2' of water in the hole. Just about the whole duck season this year though, butte la rose was about 2-3'. Today right at 11'

Its always something.lol Guess Ill just go back to fishing till next year!!
